spatial@gov news

Posted by josediacono @ 9:17 pm under Uncategorized

Wow, Maurits and my presentations have been viewed 84 times each now. That is pretty good going.  No comment yet though. All the presentations have been uploaded to a private page on slideshare for the eyes of conference delegates only. This is a bit frustrating since speakers were urged to publish their presentations under creative commons (most did).  But because some speakers didn’t want to, now none of the them are being shared freely. I would urge speakers who want to share their presentations more widely to upload them to slideshare themselves and put spatial@gov in the title so they are easy to find.

Welcome news. OSDM are looking into a blog for spatial@gov.

  1. I agree Jose, very bizarre way of ‘sharing’ these slides, which have been (more or less) publicly presetned anyway. And the URL to these presentation is unprotected, and broadcast to 500 odd delegates with the request not to forward!? That’s like the old: “don’t think of pink elephants” line. My guess is that by Monday at the latest the entire world will have access to these slides..

  2. so despite it saying /secret/ anyone can look at them? I commented strongly via the delegate survey. by the way, the survey has a bug in it on the screen you enter your favourite speakers. you have to enter a number (??) I reported it on Friday. To continue and not throw away all your valuable comments, just type in random numbers.
